Dodital-Sangamchatti Photos

Every time we plan, it stays like a plan, its never executed!!! Our actual plan to start our trek down to Sangamchatti was at around 7:30am. But we actually started at 8:30am. Initially without worrying about the time, we walked leisurely, clicking photos at all the places... Only to realize later that, "if we kept waking at this pace, we will never make it to Sangamchatti on time." So we started rushing and that's where I aggravated my ankle injury!! I kept walking slowly, because everytime I broke my rhythm, my ankle pained like hell...
Road blocks on the way..
Humaar Krishn-Kanaiyaa
that's Dayara Bugyal, its one of the best skiing slopes around
Well, the posers that we were, we had to Justify it right!! There we go, me and Vivek, sat on the edge, which had a shear drop, one slip and Yamraaj comes calling!!! The next three pictures are some of the most favourite pictures of the trek for me!! Vivek would agree with me!!
Took few shortcuts on the way... but the walk was pure awesome, painful in my ankle, but delightful to my heart!!!!
And soon the blue sky is engulfed by a rare mighty Himalayan Vulture. The next picture that you would see, is my best and the most favourite picture of the trek. You will get a fair enough idea, why I say that, when you click on the image and see the larger picture!! I just LOVE IT!!
A heart for all the Lovers
One of the major shortcut we took, just after Kacheru, was very steep and very narrow. 500m of shear height drop, and saver about a kilometer and a half of walk. Shubhodip wasn't in favor of taking it!! I told him that that was the actual way down. He fell for it initially and realized it later!! But then he wasn't complaining!!

Finally, buy the time we were at Agoda, I was limping. Soon, i wasnt in any mood of taking any more picture, because the pain had increased considerably!!! Some how i managed to walk back to Sangamchatti. Half way from Agoda, Jai Bhai took my bag, and walked with me!! Soon i realized i wasnt the only one limping. Vivek had pulled his nerves and he kept me company right upto Sangamchatti.

At Sangamchatti, we took a Jeep back to Uttarkashi. Relaxed and got fresh at a hotel. Soon me and Pankaj went out exploring the beauty and beauties of Uttarkashi :P

I hope his wife doesnt read that :D

DODITAL-DHARWA TOP-DODITAL Photos

After some, decent night sleep and the snoring war, we woke up to a cloudy morning. Had rotis and Aloo-Gobi for breakfast, took all important things like food and camera and warm caps, we headed straight to Dharwa Top. All the way to top, until you reach to a portion of trek, lets say the last 1.5 to 2km, where it gets really really steep, one has to cross the furious stream several times. Water was freezing cold, but we all were enjoying it like anything.
One has to follow the stream that joins into Dodital, eventually, almost in the major part of trek to Dharwa top. Soon after you climb about half a kilometer, a massive, but a very beautiful valley, full of flowers appear. This valley I refer to as a Valley more beautiful than Valley of flowers!! Well, its my perception, I have freedom of thought and speech and freedom to write!! Free PRESS!! Objection Over-ruled!!!
That apart, soon the the VALLEY turns left, and keeps turning left, into ANOTHER VALLEY, and then quietly into ANOTHER VALLEY(though, this valley is more broader than the previous one) and then begins the hard work. Lets first reach the ANOTHER VALLEY, which is slightly broader than the other "ANOTHER VALLEY'S." Confused!! Dont be!!
The VALLEYS that keep turning left are above, and the VALLEY, apparently more broader that the previous ones is below.
Going Up there!! Going Up there!!
Droplets of the water, on the leaves of a particular plant!! Shining like DISCO BALLS
Now lets come to the hard work. The Steep part of the trek. At this point we walk away from the stream and zig-zag our way up. The height gain is rapid and if you have cold, you certainly will face breathing problems. When you reach below the ridge, about 50-100m, the route turns right and after a small climb, you reach the Dharwa Pass. Further up is your Dharwa Top. So lets Go!!
The Interesting BLUE BERRIES above and the Lovely PURPLE ASTER below
Finally we found ourselves at Dharwa Top. On a clear day, one is blessed with the hand touching distance views of Banderpoonch and Swargrohini Peaks. Unfortunately, it wasn't for us!!
And the Boys start posing!!
Getting down that valley, once crosses over to Seema and then to Hanumanchatti. From there one can drive to Dehradun, via Yamuna Bridge.
ARSHAD
Some Panorama's: They came out really well, click on them to see the larger picture!
After spending some Quality time up there, managing to get some decent pictures from top, we get a fabulous news. Remember Arshad had started before us. When we went up there, we were searching for him. He and his guide comes back with a big smile on his face, WHY? Because the found meat for dinner. Yes, an injured goat, which wouldnt have survived, was sacrificed. They promise us to give us atleat 2kg and the carges us jus 200/- for the same. It was a cracker of a deal!! Now this was what i was talking when I said "Some thing as good as the TROUTS."
Introducing the last Charachter of the story. Sheru. Enter the SHERU!! His arrival and departure of the goat, was a matching timing!! I think he smelt the meat and joined us. We tried to feed him rotis and biscuits and he refused to eat. But soon he was the focus of the group. Being the smart guy he was, it was obvious that cameras would go click click on him. It happend as scripted!!
Soon we returned back to Dodital, anticipating and restlessly waiting for dinner. Meat baby Meat!!
Guess who was there before us.... MR SHERU
Those bluddy leeches dint spare me that day either!!! Sucked on my blood. Mind you there are leeches at Dodital too...So be careful, and always check you feet for them. Oh! I surly need to tell you a quick fix if the bite you. On of the local Dhaba wala, immediately tore of the Bidi paper, and covered my bite. Bidi; is a local cigrate, its cheap and doesnt come in fancy boxes. The bunchis wrapped in a pink/yellow/white coloured thick paper. Cover your bite with this bidi paper, the bleeding stops, and certainly heals the bite much faster than any darn medicine or creams on planet!! Simple but Effective!!
